We have a new ambulance! Well, new for us. It will help to replace aging and out of service vehicles so we can get the equipment we need to the patients that need it.
CRP class for District personnel
UPDATE: The class has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 1800
JFPD 3&8 will be having a CPR class December 20 and 1800 hours for district personnel.
If your CPR card is expiring, or if you do not have one and would like one, come to this class.
This class is recommended for all District personnel.
Pension payments due
Pension payments are due in December for those department personnel who are contributing.
It is $30.00. You can bring your cheques to the Annual Dinner.
Remember, in order to be credited for a year’s service, you must have put in the requisite number of call/training attendance, so make sure you are up on those.

Ferry and Stevens County Burn Ban Lifted
The burn ban for Ferry and Stevens County has been lifted.
Despite the recent rain, fuels are still burning, and the fire danger is categorized as Moderate.
Be careful when you burn. You must monitor your burn at all times, and have the ability to put the fire out if necessary. (An available water hose, a fire extinguisher, etc.)
If your burn becomes a problem, do not hesitate to call 911. It is better to call and then call us off than not call and call too late.

Joint Fire District 3 & 8 is holding an Open House this Saturday at the Barstow Fire Station

Time: 11 AM to 4:30 PM. (That’s 1100 hours to 1430 hours in firefighter talk. <grin>)
Come to our Fire Station and Training Centre to meet the firefighters who protect and serve your community!
We’ll have booths set up where you can get free blood pressure checks, see how Wildland firefighters work, Structure, even an Edith house where children and adults can practice safely evacuating a house if you need to.
Oh, don’t forget the free food! Yes, free food too. Bring your appitite.
We’ll have fun and games, contests, and maybe even some prizes to give out.
It will be a great day. You can learn about the fire district and, if you feel the calling, even learn how to join The Bravest. (Police are known as The Finest. Firefighters are called The Bravest. After all, when cops needed someone to look up to, God created the Firefighter.)
So come see those who protect the community, learn some things, and hear some really good fire stories.
